Any place where we can discuss Enterprise library stuff?

Bob
Been looking for a newsgroup where I can post re Patterns and Practices data
access layer problem encountered while trying the tutorials.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Bob,

Depends on what the question is about. It is not the most popular topic in
this newsgroup, because only saying Patterns and Practise need a lot of
understanding while most of us are as far as we acting in these newsgroups
more interested in the details.

I thing that in general (architecture) the General newsgroup is good,
however when it become to security, dataacces (adonet), encrypting
(security), aspnet than a newsgroup dealing those things will be better (as
they are there).

I hope this helps,

Cor

Hi All, I'm developping an application that has a very strong logging requirement - we should be able to log up to 5000 messages per second, most of them are reletively small -(16 - 30 Words) while few of them might get to 1Kb in size. The data is binary (numbers) that should be converted to text of course. I'm affraid of a "logging-bottleneck" in my app.

Hi, I have started using MS Enterprise Library for the data access layer and found it great. I have changed to coding on another machine though and didn't think it necessary to a full install of the Enterprise Library. This caused a problem that the following article solves: http://scottonwriting.net/sowblog/posts/3406.aspx Does this however mean I am going to run into all sorts of problems

I now have installed (from the same install) Enterprise Library - January 2006 and Enterprise Library - June 2005. The install for these two was called Enterprise Library for .Net 2.0. (not Enterprise Library 2.0). I then discovered that there is an Enterprise Library 3.1 - May 2007. So I want to install that because it is the latest. The instructions, however, say that if I already have Enterprise Library 3.0 installed, I must...

Hi, I was wondering whether the Enterprise Library replaces Enterprise Services as a framework for providing services for enterprise apps, or it supplements it. I know nothing of either of these technologies, but from just looking at their feature set, I noticed that they don't exactly share the same features, for example ES offers services such as just-in-time activation and object pooling that I don't see in EL. I need to know if I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
