Does anyone know how to monitor the existance of a process running in
windows task manager.
Basically I want to start another process only if the previous has finished
and the script runs in windows.

Hello all. I have many connections that are sleeping. I can right
click, kill, up to 2 at a time. It takes about 20 seconds to kill it.
Is that normal? I tried to make a stored procedure to kill them but it
ate all the power of the server, (all users yelled at me at the same
time :o) )
Is this length of time normal for killing these processes?
Thanks
Jeff

I'm not sure that this msg made it out, the first time I sent it, so I
am trying again. --
Win XP Home Edition
I use System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses()) to get info about the
processes running.
I don't see any members of class' Process' which allows me to get the
name of the owner of the process.

If I'm using process.kill, I can only kill processes,
which are created in the same login session. (I'm using
win2000, I'm in the local admin group) Processes created
by me in earlier logins or even processes of other
accounts cannot be killed. I get exceptions, like "You
have no permission...".
I've tried to do the job in a console application and in a
service running under my account (which is in the local
admin group of win2000),...

Hello,
I'm in the way for creating an application and its monitor. Yes, there
are 2 applications: The main app, and a monitor. The last one monitors
the main application for keeping it alive, and viceversa. But if I
close the main app, I want to close the monitor.
That is very easy under nt systems, but in 98 is a little more tricky
because of the problem with closing processes.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
