i have a problem about the CLIENT-SERVER architecture procedure.
Well , i have an application in VB with ADO connection to a table in a
database on a SQLSERVER 7.0 .
Is possible to do that when a client updates a data in a field of my table ,
the SERVER communicates to all clients connected to my table that this data
are updated , without the client do anything , for example without a
client-timer to control the data in the server ???...

Hi,
I am just learning about .net remoting and have managed to get it working.
However, I now want to write a basic chat program.
The problem I've got is getting the server to only fire events to some of
the clients.
eg. Client 1 and Client 2 are connected to the Server

After reading the newsgroups and various .Net web sites, I have come to a
conclusion that BeginReceive and BeginSend are the way to go as they use
IOCompletion Ports(I have no clue what they mean but most C++ programmers
seem to prefer them, based on my readings). I have decided to use this
sample from MSDN as a starting point to build my TCP server.

I am writing an application that uses asynchronous sockets to get data over
ethernet from embedded devices, up to 30 concurrent devices.(These devices
are written in C).
My application implements an asychronous socket server while the embedded
devices are the clients
When the data comes in over the socket it is eventually passed into a
message queue.

We have been asked to develop and application for a client that is a
'notification" system. We would like to use python, but are struggling
to find the right starting point. Any suggestions, tips or sample code
would be appreciated.
Application outline;
Machine A is running a "listener" application that is connected to a
another device via the serial post and waits for events. We have not
problem working with the serial port, or...

I am generally expecting most of you to work n java.If you prefer to use c/c++ version of the programs, you may,but the assistance in the lab sessions will be very much geared towards java user.
compile both the client and the server programs.open two shell windows on different machines(using e.g ssh or putty to log into another machine).run the server onn one machine, then run the client on the another machine and let it...

YOUR TASK IS AS FOLLOWS :
The server is written in such a way that only one client can connect to it at any time.modify the server sothat several clients can be connected to it(and later disconnect from it) simultaneously. In other words, the server should be able to maintain open TCP connections to several clients.
when a client sends a string to the server ,the server should display the string and send it to all other clients that are...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
