We have a Linux Server with UDB-EE 8.1.5, which is used as gateway for client connections to zOS-UDB. Our question : How many memory on the gateway does every connect user need ? We intend to have 10.000 - 20.000 connect clients go through this gateway (MAXAGENTS = MAX_CONNECTIONS = 20.000), and have at moment 1 GB memory. We thank you in advance for tips

Can I set the Format property in a date/time field in code? Can I set the Input Mask in a date/time field in code? Can I set the Format of a Yes/No field to Checkbox in code? I am working on a remote update of tables and fields and can't find enough information on these things. Also, how do you index a field in code?

Hello I am new to asp but I made some Jscript functions which work fine. The functions contain some strings used as a registration key for some apps. It is important that these strings not be visible to a client using a browser. My question is...can a knowledgeable browser user view Jscript source code in an asp file?

Hi, Is there a simple method to attain the default gateway on a server with VB.net without using WMI? Bearing in mind that the servers the application will be run on will have different makes of NIC and hardware and OS platforms? Many thanks, Jon

I am trying to write an HTTP/HTTPS proxy server in VB.Net 2005. But, I don't really even know how the internal workings of a proxy should act. Does anyone have anything on the protocols used in handling requests by proxies? I have Googled my eyes out....and found nothing. (BTW, props to Google for refusing the ridiculous request for their search results.)

I'm developing for Windows Mobile 2005 PPC using Visual Studio 2005. I need to invoke methods on a DLL (Iphlpapi.dll) but I can't get this working from C# using p/invoke so I want to write some C code that invokes the DLL. Similar to this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/iphlp/iphlp/getipforwardtable.asp Now how can I, in Visual Studio 2005, create and use such a C class ? Do I have to create an 'MFC...

I am fairly familiar with scripting dos commands and that's about it. I remember some syntax and whatnot from a few programming classes I've taken but I don't remember any of the modules or functions for VB at all. Goal: I need to set persistent routes for 2 ip address on a VPN that has a dynamic gateway each time it connects. I am almost positive I can't script this with standard dos commands so I am wondering if VB will let me do this...

I have a form, where I can activate the search and replace dialogbox when pressing a button. My problem is that the dialogbox opens with the default that it should search for full match only, and I want it to open with default "a part of field". I did change it to default "A part of the field"? by going to Tools -> Options menu to open the "Options" dialog window. Select the "Edit/Find" tab. Select the "General Search" option button.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
