valuemember and displaymember for a combobox

Sam
This code does not work :

With m_frmCtrl.cboMo de
.DataSource = m_dsCtrl.Tables (4)
.ValueMember = "ModeID"
.DisplayMember = "Descriptio n"
.SelectedValue = ds.Tables(0).Ro ws(curRow).Item ("ModeID")
End With

The line .DisplayMember triggers the following error :

Could not bind to the new display member.

If I invert those two lines :

.DisplayMember = "Descriptio n"
.ValueMember = "ModeID"
I got this error :

Could not bind to the new value member.

I've checked m_dsCtrl.Tables (4) and it contains everything right.

This is driving me crazy, can someone help please ?

I do not think it is good style to use these because you have to hardcode the propertynamed in your code as string literals. Wouldn't it be better to use delegates instead? myComboBox.DisplayMember = new ReturnStringDelegate(myObj.Name); myComboBox.Valuemember = new ReturnObjectDelegate(myObj.Value);

If you have a comboBox which has it's DisplayMember and ValueMenber bound to a datatable. If I know the "ValueMember" value - is there a way for me to set the index of the control to correspond to that ValueMember without having to iterate over the values in the control to find the index of the matching value menber? There is a "FindString" method of the ComboBox which apparently iterates over the collection looking form a match on...

I have implemented a combobox and have set the DataSource to an ArrayList. I next set the DisplayMember and ValueMember properties. When I run the code the combobox will display the proper text set by DisplayMember but it seems that the ValueMember doesn't work correct because when I go to use the SelectValue property it never displays the correct text in the combobox. Here is an example of my code:

Does the ValueMember property in the ComboBox work like the DisplayMember property. For example, if I set the properties: comboBox1.DataSource = dataSet1;comboBox1.DisplayMember = "Employees.LastName";comboBox1.ValueMember = "Employees.EmployeeID"; "

Am I missing something here? I have a simple class that exposes String properties called "Key" and "Description". I have a Control inherited from a ComboBox, into whose Items collection I've added instances of the above class. The ComboBox's ValueMember is set to "Key" and its DisplayMember to "Description".

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
