fill a dataset with several requests

Sam
Hi,
I'm trying to fill a dataset using two requests :

select column_name as column_name1, data_type as data_type1
from information_sch ema.columns
where table_name = 'table1'

and

select column_name as column_name2, data_type as data_type2
from information_sch ema.columns
where table_name = 'table2'

after the first request I fill my dataset like this :

myCommand = New SqlCommand(sql. ToString, con)
da.SelectComman d = myCommand
da.Fill(dsField s)

I don't know how to add two columns to my dataset and fill them with
the two fields selected by my second request.
The reason I want to do this is, I want to fill the first two columns
of a datagrid with the first two of the dataset using parameter
'table1', and to fill the last two columns of the datagrid with the
last two of the dataset filled with the second request (parameter
'table2)

It's quite tricky I find.
Can someone help ?
thx

Is it possible to fill a ADO.NET dataset incrementally ? (I mean to call the DataAdapter Fill() method several times, as I did not found a Add() method) I would like to call in a background thread the Fill method several times, only with a limited number of records, as I have very many records in the database. The dataset is attached to a control (listbox) and I would like that the listbox appears quickly on screen with some 50 records...

I have several tables involved in my application, but the two in question here are the company and address tables. The company table has business_address_id and mailing_address_id columns, which are both foreign keys to the address table. So, the stored procedure to which my SelectCommand points to reads as: ALTER PROCEDURE dbo.CompanyInfoByCompanyID ( @companyid int

I have tried several different methods of getting a datagrid to fill with information. Below is the code I'm now using. When viewed in the browser and the text box filled with a parameter value (i.e. CA for Calif), the datagrids header is displayed when the button is clicked, but no data is displayed. I used SQL Profiler and can see that the query comes across with the parameter, and if I take that query string and use it exactly in Query...

Hello! I use DataGrid which displays data in several columns. Number of columns depends on user prefferences (I mean: this is still the same query filling datatable but I use "DataTable.Columns(i).ColumnMapping = MappingType.Hidden" to hide columns which should be hidden). So, the code I use every time to fill DataTable and display data in DataGrid looks like: Private Sub xxxxx(...) Dim firstTime as Boolean = true

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
