Extracting the directory path from the full path of the file

kd
Hi All,

Given a full path name of a file, is there a command to extract the
directory path (without the file name)?

Thanks.

Hi, based on your previous post I guess this is a console application. You
could do the following

Dim strStartupDir As String = CurDir()

Dim strFileName As String = "MyFileName.exe "

MsgBox(Replace( strStartupDir, strFileName, ""))

I am still fairly new on this subject, so the problem I have run into I am not sure how to fix, and really not sure what is causing it. Here's what is going on (test server - Windows 2003 Server): I have a page in a folder (under anonymous authentication in IIS6) that has a link on it that...

It also works fine as a Debug stand-alone. ut I had an odd behavior when it comes to the Release varsion when I renamed its project directory name it was in! I tracked the problem down to it being the NAME of the DIRECTORY the application is in! Let me explain. I compiled the code, and it worked in ALL...

Is it possible to retrieve a proper/invariant file or directory name using a lowercase full path string without having to resort to a call to GetDirectories()/GetFiles() using the directory/filename as the search string? While Path, FileInfo, and DirectoryInfo all store the path information, they use the path case passed to them, so passing a lowercase path to Path.GetFullPath() will return a lowercase full path. TIA

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
