ListView Sorting

How do I sort ListViews in vb.net?
In VB6, I would have set the sortkey = columnheader, then set
ListView1.Sorti ng
But, theres no sortkey in the vb.net version.
Thanks

I have successfully integrated sorting in the listview control with the following code: Private Sub ListView_ColumnClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ColumnClickEventArgs) Handles ListView.ColumnClick If ListView.Sorting = System.Windows.Forms.SortOrder.Ascending Then ListView.Sorting = System.Windows.Forms.SortOrder.Descending Else ListView.Sorting = System.Windows.Forms.SortOrder.Ascending

Hi All I used listview and tried to update it by using Addrange. When the number of items is less, it works fine.. But I need to update nearly 200,000 items and it hangs. Also i need to add images to listview also(This is to list all the items in my inbox, and want to give the user the feel of outlook). Since it hangs for even 1000 items in the inbox, i tried to shift to virtual listview. But virtual listview

Using VB.NET I have a ListView with several columns. Two columns contain integer values, while the remaining contain string values. I am confused as to how I would provide functionality to sort columns based on the column header the user has clicked in both Ascending and Descending formats.

Hi, I use a listview to populate the data, and define a sorting direction with Me.ListView1.Sorting = System.Windows.Forms.SortOrder.Ascending so far no problem. As long as I add a new row into the listview programatically I got an error on sorting the data at above line: System Argument Exception: '-1' is not a valid value for 'index'.

VB6 has a SorkKey property that you can setup on the ListView control to tell the ListView what column to use for sorting. In .NET there is a Sort() method and a SortOrder property that you can use to manipulate the Sorting property. My question is how do I perform the same functionality as I do in VB6 setting the SortKey and SortOrder with the ListView. Dave

I am trying to implement the sorting of a ListView object by clicking on a column (using the example at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnwinforms/html/listviewsort.asp). While debugging it I get the following exception: An unhandled exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll Additional information: Error creating window handle.

Hi, I'm using vs2005, .net 2 for C# windows application. One of my column on the Listview control has numericstring. Other columns are sorting correctly except this one. It seems to be sorting the 1st numeric char at the beging of the string. How do I resolve this problem? Thank you? -- Thanks.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
