Watching files over midnight

I'm using the FileSystemWatch er with NotifyFilters.L astWrite set. This
works fine during the same day but fails to fire its event for changes
in the monitored file after midnight, ie into the next day, until the
program is reset when it carries on perfectly happily again.

I can't see why this should happen, the file's datetime stamp
obviously continues to change irrespective of whether it's the same
day or the next day. Is there some subtlety in configuring FSW that
I'm overlooking please? (All I need to pick up is when the target file
is updated by anopther program)

What would be a good way to ensure that a DataTable, stored in the Cache, gets removed from the Cache every day at midnight? I know I can't assume that it's there - but if it is, I want it to be removed at that particular time of day. Thanks.

I don't see directly a solution with a timer and an interval. Because the first time then interval can not be 24hours? Is there something easier?

I set this up 3 days ago and have not seen any of the logs I've created this way being rotated. I expected them to rotate every midnight. I'm calling the code that uses this logger many times, each a separate run, if that matters. Am I doing something stupid? I can't find anything on google and don't see anything in the code that would...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
