Hello All, I am getting an error of not well-formed at the beginning of the Korean text in the second example. I am doing something wrong with how I am encoding my Korean? Do I need more of a wrapper about it than simple quotes? Is there some sort of XML syntax for indicating a Unicode string, or does the Elementree library just not support reading of Unicode? here is my test snippet:

Dear All, A class having no member variables and only a method sizeof(object) will return 1byte in ANSI and two bytes in Unicode. I have the answer for this of how in works in ANSI. But I don't know it returns two bytes in UniCode. Please help... For ANSI: In ISO/ANSI C++ Standard, 5.3.3 1, it stays: "The sizeof operator yields the number of bytes in the object representation of its

Hi, I've a problem with code that should produce a Windows(ANSI) encoded text file but doesn't. Server is IIS 5 on Win 2k, with ASP ver? My ASP uses data from an upstream HTML form on a UTF-8 encoded page. The latter is output by a server-side system and I can't alter that source format. Here's some of the ASP code (may wrap): ' Following vars are longer strings but of this type - just more Request

Hello there, I'm writting (or trying to) a Console Application in C#. I has to be console. I remember back in the old days of Cobol (Unisys), Clipper and even Basic, I used to use a program (its name i cannot recall now...) where I designed the "screen" using this "program" and then saved it into an ASCII file. (thus, using 'extended' ASCII's like Lines, Corners, etc. and making screens look nicer and more professional). Then reading a...

Hi, I am extending an existing MFC app to use Unicode (for a Japanese version of the interface elements). The app's purpose is to control a peripheral device through the serial port, and the device only understands ansi strings (in fact, I synthesize a character stream and send it as though it was typed into a terminal). The problem seems to be that the VC++ 6 linker insists that if I use the #define UNICODE and _UNICODE preprocessor...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
