How to get the starting and end character position of the given line no in RichTextBox

Hi All,

How to get the starting and end character position of the given line no in
RichTextBox?
I have written following code but it takes more time.
Is there any RichTextBox function or API function which gives that?

Private Sub SetLineStartEnd Position(ByVal myRichTextBox as RichTextBox,
ByVal LineNo As Integer, ByRef StartPosition As Integer, ByRef EndPosition
As Integer)
Dim intCurrentLine As Integer
Dim intCurrentPosit ion As Integer
StartPosition = -1
EndPosition = -1
With myRichTextBox
For intCurrentPosit ion = 0 To .TextLength
If StartPosition = -1 And LineNo =
..GetLineFromCh arIndex(intCurr entPosition) Then
StartPosition = intCurrentPosit ion
End If
If EndPosition = -1 And LineNo <
..GetLineFromCh arIndex(intCurr entPosition) Then
EndPosition = intCurrentPosit ion - 1
Exit For
End If
Next
If EndPosition = -1 Then
EndPosition = .TextLength - 1
End If
End With
End Sub

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance

Using VB6. With a RichTextbox, I can get the position of the character under the mouse pointer with an API call like: SendMessage(hWnd, EM_CHARFROMPOS, 0&, Pointl) by passing the mouse x,y co-ordinates in the Pointl structure. But does anyone know a way to get the *attributes* of the character (Bold, Underline, etc) WITHOUT affecting the textbox in any way? Any method that requires the character to be the selected text (like

Hi, Is there any way to replace a character at a position? Without cussing the RichTextBox to scroll. For example the following code will replaces the by removing but the side effect is that it will cause it to scroll. aRichtext.Text = aRichtext.Text.Remove(position, 1) aRichtext.Text = aRichtext.Text.Insert(position, "Y")

I have text files and I get binary offsets of text portion of these files from VB6 program with RichTextBox. I use VB.Net 2003 and need to select and highlight the text between given offsets. RichTextBox does not highlight the correct string as it treats new line pair as one character. Is there a way to highlight the correct string ? How do I translate real binary offsets to richtextbox offsets ? To reproduce: I have placed a text box...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
