You use SQL

SELECT * FROM TABLE WHERE PARAMID = SomeValue

Booster,

This question is in my opinion too much at the beginning that to make it
possible to answer it in a newsgroup, you can try these resources to have a
good starting point.

VB.net Resource kit
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/default.aspx

And if you have problems installing the resource kit
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbr...q/#installvdir

Another resource for learning is the Quick Starts
http://samples.gotdotnet.com/quickstart/

I hope this helps a little bit?

I use an Access database to basically take data exports, import them, manipulate the data, and then turn them into exportable reports. I do this using numerous macros, and queries to get the data in the format that I need it in order to create the reports that we use. So far this has proven to be successful for the reports that I am doing and the data that I am pulling into it. I just have one challenge that may require a lot of work and I...

I am looking for a good solution on how to implement data access in an application so that there is a clean separation between the data access layer, the business layer and the GUI layer. I am looking for a robust solution for a major application. Almost every developer seems to come up with a completely different solution. While many of them are not bad, I really want a very good one. My database is SQL Server 2000 and I am using Visual...

Hello, I have a basic question. I have a DataTable of information without a database store (it's only in memory). I am looking to somehow query the DataTable to find out which row(s) satisfy certain criteria and then update the data in those rows, all without any sort of database access (no DataAdapters or anything). The table does not have a primary key so I've been using DataTable.DefaultView.Find to get the index of the row that...

Hey Guys, I've been perusing the newsgroup here for some time now, and going through my ever so non-helpful book, Microsoft Visual Basic .NET Step by Step Version 2003, over and over, and I feel like such a dummy. I read you fella's talking up one side and down the other about streams, and can't for the life of me get a good grasp of them. I've been reading the articles you toss around to each other but I can't quite follow them enough...

Hi all Bit of an obscure one this, but hopefully someone will be able to help. 4 years ago we had a potentially catastrophic problem with our Access database. From memory it was written in Access 2000, but is now used on Access 2003. The problem surrounded the Find button created using the wizard. There was some issue with this procedure and linked tables.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
