Can you be more specific? What doesn't work? What do you want to
archieve?

Herfried:

Here is a sample of What I am doing:

Private Function ClassByControl( ByVal strAssemblyFile Name As String) As
UserControl
Dim objAssembly As [Assembly] = [Assembly].LoadFrom(strAs semblyFileName)
Dim cControl As UserControl
Try
cControl = objAssembly.Cre ateInstance("Sa mple.UserContro l1")
cControl.UserNa me="XXXXX"
Catch
End Try
End Function

In the Control I have the Following Propert Set:

Public Property Username() As String
Get
Return ssUsername
End Get
Set(ByVal Value As String)
ssUsername = Value
End Set
End Property

There error happens on cControl.UserNa me="XXXXX"
Thanks,

Dan

hi all - - I'm probably a) completely wrong b) the umpteenth person too mention it - but I'm struggling to identify how to best work with re-usable units of UI on an ASP page. the problem is really: 1) UserControl - perfect *but* can't be re-used site wide - I *must* be wrong on this surely... 2) Custom Control - perfect for some things - like sophisticated

I have a custom control that is thrown onto a UserControl that is thrown onto a WebForm. Basically, I've got a scenario where if my UserControl sets an attribute on the custom control in the ascx, EnsureChildControls gets called, creating the control before the UserControl is even added to the webform. The problem with this is that the UniqueID of the custom control will be false, since OnInit has yet to be called on its parent, somehow...

Can I load custom web user controls dynamically and access the properties and methods without having to explicitly define custom control types (example 2 below). I have custom web control named EditStuff.ascx which reads from an xml file and loads controls to its self based on string value in xml nodes collection of the xml. There are several controls that can be loaded and for each one there exists a public method called 'IntiControl'...

Hi, I have a UserControl containing some controls of which one is a ComboBox. All the InternalControls are Private and some are allowed to be accessed through Public Methods. One of the things I would like to do (of course) is set the DataBindings. Something clearly is wrong with the approach I use, because I can't set the Properties in the Designer, the DataSource-Property appears like 'ReadOnly', there is no "dropdown" with the list from...

Hope somebody can help! I want to automatically be able to add code to the initialize routine on a Windows form when I add a custom control that I've written to a form. Specifically, I'm trying to data bind to a normal class. So I've extended the standard text box to include a field for object name and property name. I want to be able to add a line such as : controlname.DataBindings.Add("Text", objectName, "myPropertyName") I've...

Hi, I have a user control that in turn creates a bunch of webcontrols dynamically and handles the events these webcontrols raise. It used to work fine on ASP .Net 1.1 but when compiled on 2.0 it does not. The problem is that the webcontrols get created on the OnLoad event of the usercontrol and the event handlers are assigned at the same time. I have to click twice on the controls for the events to be raised, the first time nothing...

The ToolBar control allows you to add toolbar buttons. When you add a button, the button is not only displayed in the toolbar, but also added as a separator control in the form/usercontrol your toolbar exists in. I'm writing my own usercontrol which contains various different controls (e.g. Panel, Button). I would like these controls to be listed in the drop down just above the Properties grid, when a new instance of the usercontrol is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
