Hello,
I want to build two assemblies that use common c# code.
I wish to use preprocessor.
I defined a constant YABA in "Conditional compilation constants" in the
property pages.
So the line looks like this: DEBUG;TRACE;YABA
Then in my code I have:

I use conditional compiler constants, set through the VBA IDE in
Tools, <projectname> Properties, that I refer to throughout my code to
control which code is used during development, and which during
production. Usually, this only wraps code used to control quitting
the whole app versus just shutting a form, but it can also control
many other things.
However, as part of the build before delivering an update, I have to
remember to...

Hi,
Could I ask some questions about the conditional compilaion? Suppose I
have three simple files: a.c, b.c and c.h
/* --------a.c--------- */
#include <stdio.h>
#include "c.h"
int main()

I have a project of several files with #defines to setup a conditional
compile. I would like to put these #defines in a single file and change the
conditional compile from this one file with the #defines using an "include
like" directive.
C# does not have a #include directive so it appears that I can not do this.
Am I missing something? Is it possible to do this in c#.

I'm using conditonal compile with statement #IF CONFIG
This works if I use #IF CONFIG = "Debug" or #IF CONFIG= "Release"
But if I define an other compilation profile, eg. "BestRelease", and I use
#IF CONFIG = "BestRelease", compiler doesn't recognize the true condition
and doesn't compile statements inside #IF... #END IF block.
Is this a bug?
Any other way to have conditional compile in a project, using only a single
variable (I need...

Hi,
In VS2003 conditional compilation constants and their state could be defined
at project level.
I was using this to control what features where offered by various builds.
i.e. Feature1=true,Feature2=false, ...
VS2005 seems to either allow the existance of the constant or not.
ie. You must omit a constant not declare it to be false
This means that the list no longer declares the state of all the options.

I'm a C++ programmer of many years, trying to get my feet wet in C#.
I have a question about conditional compilation. In C++, I would
sometimes define a constant in an include file, and then have blocks of
code in different source files that were conditionally compiled based
on that constant. Now that C# has done away with include files, is
there any way of doing the same thing, short of defining the constant
multiple times at the head...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
