Visual Studio Hanging on all projects

I open any VB.NET project and select Run, the Build is successful, but the
IDE hangs and never actually runs the app.
This just started happening.

Try deleting everything in the bin folders under your project, and see if
that fixes it.

This was being caused by Norton Internet Security (2004). Does anyone know a
way that I can have Norton running at the same time as .NET IDE?? I would
rather not have to disable Norton while developing.

I'm currently experiencing a strange phenomenon: At my Office, Visual Studio takes a very long time to compile our solution (more than 1 minute for the first project). At home, Visual Studio compiles the same solution much faster (about 10 seconds for the first project). My home computer is only marginally faster than the one I have at the office (P4 2.53 vs. P4 2.4, same amount of RAM). On the slow machine, the CPU usage is very low,...

I've been creating some toy ASP.NET apps in an effort to understand the technology. I've something odd with regards to project/solution creation. If you create a new asp.net application, it appears that the project files get created in the URL specified Location field on the New Project dialog box. This makes sense to me. What is confusing is that the solution file gets created in a folder with the same name as the location folder (the...

I have a solution in Source Safe that I want to add some web service projects to. I create a folder under my solution folder for the new web service project. I create a virtual directory using IIS and accept the default settings for security etc.

Using Visual Studio 2005, I created a new website: File->New->Web Site and chose the ASP.Net Web Site template. Saved it in location c:\Projects\GCSLRMS_DotNet\WS\WebSite1. It created the solution file: C:\Documents and Settings\clintb.GCSSOFTWARE\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\WebSite1\WebSite1.sln I didn't want it there. I wanted it the same folder as all the other

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
