Hi everyone,
Sorry this is more than a little off topic but Im having a terrible time
trying to get anyone at the managed directX groups to reply so I'm going to
try with everyone here as they are far more helpful!
Im having problems with sound quality using the Audio class from this
namespace and I was wondering if anyone else had similar issues or knows of
any links to info about problems. Failing that anyone who has any
information...

I'm using the (managed) Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback namespace
to program an app where I want to quickly swap the video that is being
displayed, playing the new video from the position where the old one
left off. Here's a sample of the relevant code:
// when this code is executed the current video
// is happily playing
current.Pause();
double pos = current.CurrentPosition;
current.Ending -= endHandler;

Hello.
I have a problem using Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback; Video.
The property CurrentPosition gets the current position in the buffer but not
the current position of the frame that is displayed on the screen.
How is it possible to get that value or are there any workarounds? On slow
computers CurrentPosition is more or less useless...
Thanks a lot and greetings,
Tim.

In my asp.net application I upload a video file and then need to get the
duration and other properties.
I get "Attempted to access an unloaded AppDomain" when I instanciate the
Video object.
I am impersonating Administrator.
Here is the code:
Dim v As Video = New Video(fname, True)
intHeight = v.DefaultSize.Height

Does anyone know of a way where you can bind one of the Audio objects from DirectX.AudioVidoPlayback to a DirectX.DirectSound object? I need to do this because I need to be able to play several video clips at a time *and* send the audio of each video clip to differeing sound devices that have been enumerated previously. So far I've only found DirectSound to be effective at enumerating sound devices and so if I could create a DirectSound object...

Hi,
I am strugling with a simple problem which I can't seem to resolve.
I have an asp.net page which contains a server-control (flytreeview,
which is a kind
of a tree to be exact).
The tree is being updated by some other process through remoting.
When the page loads, I init the tree, and in my browser I can see the
initialized tree.
The problem is that every time that I receive update to tree from the
remote process,

Hello
i have made a custom control. i have placed a panel on it. I want this
panel to behave just like the normal panel. The problem i was having is
that the panel on my custom control doesnt accept other controls. The
control i drag drop on it becomes the child of my custom control's
parent form and not the child of my custom control. Then i added this
line
""
before my custom control class (i dont know what this line does). Now

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
