Use CType to Convert Array

Structure myXMLtype
Dim Filename As String
Dim sql As String
End Structure
....

Dim obj as New ArrayList
......

return CType(obj.ToArr ay, myXMLtype) 'This wont work

I know that CType() can't be used to convert a Array into a array of another type but is there any other method that will to do this
without having to create another array, and then do a loop where you convert each element?

It's official....Convert blows. I ran a number of tests converting a double to an integer usingboth Convert & CType. I *ASSUMED* that CType would piggy-back ontop of Convert, and that performance would be identical. I was 100% incorrect. The code below produces the results: CType Took: 0.2187528 seconds. Convert Took: 12.187656 seconds.

Is there a way to convert a variable from 1 type to another type that you determine at runtime? I'm trying to pull a value from a ListDictionary's key. The datatype of that key must be identical to pull that value. I have a property to pull this value based on the key supplied, but I am using an object type on my parameter. I want to do a ctype() on the lookUpListKey and change it to the correct data type so that it's corresponding value...

There is something about inherited classes I evidently don't know... I wrote the following class: Class Class1 inherits System.Windows.Forms.DataGridTextBoxColumn End Class There is absolutely no added functionality to it.

Hello Everything in .Net is an object and CTYPE converts one datatype to another datatype so why use Cstr, Cint or any other method to convert from one datatype to another?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
