Hi all, I'm afraid this is the second posting of this information as I didn't get a response on the previous post. I will try to shorten my message (i.e. be more concise) in the hopes that it will make it easier for someone (i.e. a Microsoft person) to digest the information and respond to it. I am a C++ and Java developer with over 3 years of industry experience. I've written low level C++ code, in addition to web clients that use web...

i've been using visual studio 6.0 and found that the name of the dsw
file is included in the title bar when you bring up VS C++6.0. this was
rather convenient when working on multiple projects as all i needed to
do was to name the dsw file with the project name.
we're moving to visual .net 2003 and it appears that the C++ ide does
not take the name of the sln file and put it on the title bar. it puts
the name of the current focused window...

Shortly, the Visual C++ Tools Refresh will be available on the MSDN Visual
C++ devcenter. You will need to have installed the Visual Studio 2005 Beta
first. <http://msdn.microsoft.com/visualc>
I have been talking about this a lot over the last two months. All of the
features that are missing in the compiler for Beta 1 are now available in
the tools refresh. These refreshes are builds out of live development branch
and thus are not...

I am currently migrating my Visual C++ 6.0 applications to Visual Studio
2005. I am getting compiler errors involving the VS2005's platform SDK.
When I removed directory references to that SDK, and started using the
Microsoft Platform SDK for XP SP2, the errors disappeared, but I am now
getting numerous warnings (macro redefinitions) as follows:
StdAfx.cpp
WINVER not defined. Defaulting to 0x0502 (Windows Server 2003)

Introduction
This tutorial describes how to use Visual Studio to create a new C++ program, compile/run a program, resume work on an existing program and debug a program. It is aimed at the beginning CIS student who is struggling to get their programs working. I work in the computer lab at the college I'm attending and I see many students who don't know how to use the IDE for best results.
Visual Studio automatically creates a number of...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
