datagrid update methodology

I want to show a datagrid to a user which contains about 100-200 records (6
columns). I would like to allow the user to alter certain columns while
they're using the program. Then when they exit, they will be prompted to
save changes. What I don't want to do is load my dataset, have the user
make changes, then update the dataset which will update the server. Rather,
I'd like to write a stored procedure (for SQL server) that handles the
update of each column (2 columns are updateable, hence 2 stored procedures.)
I then want to execute the stored procedure for each record where a column
was changed. What is the proper methodology for doing this? Can anyone
provide me some code samples?

I have a dataset-bound datagrid and, when the user adds a row to the datagrid and fills it with the data, I'd like to be able to update the dataset (with the newly-added row) and then the database table (also with the newly-added row). Normally I'd do it with a DataAdapter method call but the dataset is returned from within another class (I don't declare the dataadapter here). What can I do? Thanks.

I have a DataGrid web control which I've dynamically populated with template columns to be used for bulk-editting. Generally, all of the columns are textbox and/or dropdownlist child controls. Currently everything is working. I can find the updated rows/columns by parsing the posted data collection against the DataGrid DataSource. However, when there is a large amount of DataGridItems (rows) the update processing can take a while. ...

Trying to figure out the technique which should be used to add rows to a datagrid. I am thinking that I would want an "Add" button on the footer, but I am not quite sure how to do that. Is that the best method? Do you have a sample of how to do this?

I have a Datagrid which in theory, should allow you to edit and update the records. I've stripped my test page down so that it's only attempting to update one field - "description". Yet when I make the changes and click Update, it reverts back to the old value. I'm stumped! I've also checked the db table and it is infact not updating. I'm attempting to follow and example right out of ASP.NET Unleashed but not having much luck. Any...

I want to asked the user if he is sure before deleting a row in a datagrid. I've created an event handler for the underlying table using the RowDeleting Event. If the user responds that he does not want to delete the row then I think I am supposed to throw an exception. But the rowstate is changed to deleted anyway. I thought throwing the exception would prevent this.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
