I have a table called Person that has a primary key personID. Another
table called ProUser that inherits from Person. In another table called
ProPriceSchedule I have a foreign key constraint to the ProUser table,
like so: CONSTRAINT proUser FOREIGN KEY (personID) REFERENCES
ProUser(personID).
The problem I am having is this: ERROR: UNIQUE constraint matching
given keys for referenced table "prouser" not found
Here are the tables for...

Hi,
I'm a C++ developer coming fresh to c# for GUI development. For the project
I'm working on, I need a specialised control (a treeview derivative) which
would be very useful in other applications I might need to write.
Back in my day ;-) I would have written a user control for use from within
VB, which I could still do, however - I also have the (more appealing from
my perspective) option of deriving a control from the .NET base...

Hello all,
i have a view defined as a simple select of a table.
This table is inherited by a couple of others.
All entries belong to the child-tables.
I also have an unconditional update rule on the view.
If i do an update to the view, the update is rewritten
to update the father-table.

I have sucessfully created a control that inherits from a UserControl.
Now I want to extend this by adding extra controls but if I try and drop a
control onto the form then I just get the "No" cursor and I'm not able to
drop the control onto the designer.
I can add controls in the InitializeComponent procedure of my inherited
UserControl and they do appear in the designer at design time but am unable
to edit any of it properties.

VS2005 RTM
Create a web user control to use as a base class for other web user
controls.
Now, create a new web user control, change the class it inherits from to
your base class and compile.
(You must have a <% Register %> so it will see it)
You will get TWO warnings per class like:

Hi
I have a user control that is designed as below.
I am creating these User Controls Dynamically in another form. They are
multiple types of User Controls all with a common Interface so I can use a
Factory to create them all in a generic way.
The problem is that if I create a IMyInterface - I cannot access the
derived UserControl Methods.
I need to access the Methods derived from UserControl and also the Interface

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
