Hi
I have designed a database app using a windows form and a tab control with
comboboxes and edit controls on each tab control. The problem that I am
having is with the edit form that I have created.
On the forms onload event handler I databind the controls on the various tab
controls to the dataset for the selected record.
The problem comes when I save the record. If I haven't clicked on each tab

Hi,
I bind a grid to a DataView object. I lose the reference to the underlying
DataTable and the DataSet in a postback.
Here is the code. Page_Load works fine and I am able to see the rows in grid
and edit them. But I don't know how to save the data back to the database
when the user clicks on a Button. Thanks.
private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e)

I'm starting to play around with VS2005 and ASP.NET 2 and have some questions.
The typical pattern for a data-driven aspx page in v1.1 was data connection -> data adapter -> dataset -> bound controls. V2 (at
least by default) doesn't include data connections, data adapters or datasets in the toolbox when building an aspx page. Nor can I
find where the DataView component went to. Everything now seems to rely on the DataSource controls.

I've been searching forever for examples of saving data changes in a
DataGridView. There's all kinds of examples, but none really show how
to save changes. Someone please help me.
I have a Windows Forms program with a DataGridView and a BindingSource
added to a form. Here is the code I'm using to populate the grid:
Dim CRClassesTableAdapter As SqlDataAdapter
Dim CRClassesTable As New DataTable()

After reading a tutorial and fiddling, I finally got this to work. I can
now put two tables created with a DataTable class into a DataRelation.
Phew! And it works!
Dim tblSliceInfo As New DataTable("SliceInfo")
Dim tblSliceRatings As New DataTable("SliceRatings")
'.... All the adding datacolumns, datarows, etc. goes here..
DatasetInit.Tables.Add(tblSliceInfo)

I am developing an application for pocketpc and this involvs a but of
juggling with different forms.
I have an "order entry" type of application. On the main form I have a
grid which displays Order headers. Let call this form "OrderList"
From this view I edit/enter new orders by opening a new form for
entering data. This is done using (more or less) the designer generated
forms, so I have a "Order edit view dialog. I pass the binding...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
