Validating xml against .xsd

Hi

I have programmed a small program in VB.NET to validate an
xml-document against an .xsd. You can find my code at the bottom of
this posting. My problem is, that if I have an unqualified xml-file
and the xsd imports three other xsd's then it does not work. It works
just fine for a qualified xml-file and four .xsds and it works fine
with an unqualified xml-document and only one .xsd. But the import of
three others really messes things up.

Any help is appriciated!

Code;
Public Function ValidateXMLwith Schema(ByVal XmlFileName As String,
ByVal XsdFileName As String) As Boolean

Dim xsc As XmlSchemaCollec tion = New XmlSchemaCollec tion()

Try
xsc.Add(Nothing , XsdFileName)
Catch ex As Exception
errString += vbNewLine & "Error: " & ex.Message
Return False
End Try

Dim reader As XmlTextReader
Try
reader = New XmlTextReader(X mlFileName)
Catch ex As Exception
Return False
End Try

Dim vReader As XmlValidatingRe ader = New
XmlValidatingRe ader(reader)

vReader.Schemas .Add(xsc)
vReader.Validat ionType = ValidationType. Schema

AddHandler vReader.Validat ionEventHandler , AddressOf
ValidationCallB ack

Try
While vReader.Read()
End While
Catch ex As Exception
fejlString += vbNewLine & "Error: " & ex.Message
Return False
End Try

reader.Close()
vReader.Close()
Return True
End Function 'Validate

I have been having problems validating an XForms document against the XForms schema located at http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Forms/2002/XForms-Schema.xsd. I have reduced the XForm to its bare bones as follows: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?> <xf:model xmlns:xf="http://www.w3.org/2002/xforms"> <xf:instance xmlns=""/> </xf:model>

Hi All, I'm using Xerces C++ 2.50 DOM version for Validating a valid XML againt the Schema(XSD) available; But it always shows an error in XSD I suppose; This is the error I'm getting using DOMError : Value 'The type of the operation for this entity.' is NOT a valid URI Value ' 1 = Allow 2 = Agree 4 = Deny' is NOT a valid URI; Here '1 = Allow 2 = Agree 4 = Deny' these are enumerated values in XSD.

i'm having 2 problems with the http://validator.w3.org 1. if i have: <meta http-equiv="Content-Script-Type" content="text/javascript"> then why do i need <script type=text/javascript> everywhere??? i'm writing most of my code by hand, so this is a lot of extra typing or global search and replace later 2. the other problem is with my include files: i usually <script src="foo.js"></script>

I've got a system which takes an XML file, translates it into an update gram and then loads it into my database with SQLXML3 (all in dot net). But it's fragile. And the SQLXML 3 error reporting is not absolutely wonderful. So what I want to do is to validate it before I upload it. When I try and do this I get MILLIONS of errors (well lots) complaining about elements like ROOT which are part of the

Hello, I've developed a .NET C# web service; which has one method named, let's say, upload_your_data. This method has one parameter ( string your_data). The value that this parameter will actually have is the content of a XML document. This data will be processed and check for a well-formed xml document and will be validated against a XSD. Before putting my code, let me go on and explain the whole situation. This web method is invoked...

I have an XML Schema file that I know is correct becuase I currently use it in a VB6 program to validate XML documents. Also, if I load an XML file into VS2005 that is not valid against this schema, I get XML errors (blue squigglies) in a few places, which indicates to me that I should get validation errors while validating through code. When I try to validate an invalid document, I never get any validation errors. I have tried many...

I wrote a method to validate and xml file against a schema. If the file does not conform to the schema, it throws an error. It works fine except for one curious thing. If I try to validate an XDocument (containing schema xml) against a schema url, it validates successfully..... Has anyone ever seen this before or know why it does this. Here is the code:

Hello, I need to remove the DTD reference from an xml document, the reason for this is that we want to validate against a schema instead (which we have locally). It takes up to a minute to fetch all documents referred to in the DTD, and as we have no use for them I want to remove the reference. I'm using XmlReaderSettings to pass in the xml document and the schema, but when I loop through the reader it goes and tries to get

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
