DataGrid for Windows Forms: suppress plus sign

Any ideas on how to suppress the plus sign (+) beside a
DataGrid row when that particular parent row has no
records in the corresponding child table?

This applies to a datagrid for a Windows form.

Much thanks to the white knight who can help me.

Hi Ken,

The DataGrid class should have an EnableNavigatio n property (or something
similar) that just disables these [+]es. There's also a DataGridTableSt yle
class you can apply to a certain data table bound to the grid - may be this
property is available only from the DataGridTableSt yle.

Hi all, I'm getting a bug with the datagrid object. I've created one from scratch, bound it to a dataview with 2 int32 columns and formatted the output as currency. I've found that when you use the F2 key to enter edit mode and then hit TAB or ESCAPE without actually editing the value, dotnet crashes with a null reference error.

I have a DataGrid on Form1 that displays a small amount of information about employees. On Form2 I want to have all the data displaying in text boxes about the employee selected in the datagrid on form 1. Is there a Id in the datagrid I can use to find out which user was selected or which record was highlighted when double clicked. Something like: John Thomas Employee Id 2637 was selected on Form1 and the recordset on Form2 would use...

Hi all I have a dataset with three tables. On my form I have two grids. Both grids have the default plus sign on the side of the grid. I have set up my tables and columns collection the way I want, but I don't need the plus sign to open any child records. How can i get rid of this. As I am ne to VB and .net, I tried every thing I can think of in the VS IDE Thanks Robert

Is there an event that fires when a user clicks the plus sign in a Master/Detail datagrid? It would be even better if I could catch when the user clicks the link to see the detail records. What I'm wanting to do is not load the detail data until the user clicks the link. Any ideas or links would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello, everyone. Is there a way to not display a certain value in a datagrid cell? I have a datagrid for subscriptions and ebooks and if there isn't an e-book listed, the value from the database (SQL) is "Null/No Set Dummy Row". Is there a way I can suppress that data in the datagrid? Thanks,

With this code, the config file(listed below) opens initially into the datagrid display with only a plus sign '+'. On clicking that, it becomes expanded to; - appsettings add When I click on appsettings, it reverts back to '+' On clicking that, - appsettings add is displayed Finally, when I click on appsettings this time, the contents of the config

Sorry for the multple post, but since I didn't get an answer the first time, it occurred to me that I night have posted in the wrong group. I have a datagrid with a dataset as its datasource. Its datamember is a table that has 3 datarelations defined in the dataset. I would like to capture the click event on the plus sign to avoid allowing the user to select which datarelation to use to view child records. Can I do this without...

Hello all, I can usually find solutions to my .NET problems by searching these groups, but I'm stumped on this one. I have a datagrid in VB.NET (2.0 framework). I want to disable sorting on the first column in the grid only. I havent found a way to reliably do this yet. I tried putting the following code in the datagrid's mouse down event Dim hti As DataGrid.HitTestInfo

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
