Here's a proposed Q&A for the FAQ based on a couple recent
threads. Appropriate comments appreciated
X.Y: Why doesn't Python have macros like in Lisp or Scheme?
Before answering that, a clarification on what 'macro' means.
A Lisp macro is a way of modifying code when that code is first
defined. It can rearrange the structure of the code, and add and
remove parts of it. Unlike C's #define macro language, Lisp
macros understand the...

I have a database on a network drive, that needs to be used by various
people throughout the state on their laptops when their laptops are not
connected to the network. What I have set up so far is a main database
where the tables are held. I also have a database where all the
queries, macros, and forms are held. This second database contains a
link to the tables in the first database. When someone needs to use the
database, they will be...

I'm having some problems converting VBA for Word 2000 to code that
VB.Net understands. I recorded a macro in Word to add numbering (a.
b. c.) to my paragraphs. I managed to translate quite a bit of it,
but I'm having trouble with two pieces:
ListGalleries - I can't find any way to make VB.Net understand this.
When I do a mouseover, the error message it gives is, "Interface
'Word.ListGalleries' cannot be indexed because it has no...

Consider this macro
// check if x, assumed of type unsigned char, is in range
#define ISVALID(x) ((x)>=0x20 && (x)<=0x7E)
Of course, this can't be safely used as in
if (ISVALID(*p++)) foo();
where p is a pointer ot unsigned char.

I am opening an Excel file on my server, and saving it with some other name and then trying to coping the new excel to my local machine.
If i use a simple Excel(without macro but with password) it works properly but if i use a macro and make the excel password protected then it does not allow me to open it.
It does not give any exception but on reaching to "oWB = oXL.Workbooks.Open(" it hangs up.

Good day folks.
Let me open with the statement that I am not a C++/C programmer. The environment that I am programming in is ARMbasic, an embedded BASIC targeted toward ARM-based micro-controllers. So why am I posting herein? Well, the ARMbasic environment makes use of a tool borrowed from your folk's environment - CPP. The build details are:
C:\Program Files\Coridium>cpp --version
cpp (GCC) 3.2.3 (mingw special 20030504-1)

Since I'm new I like using macro's over code, but coding allows me to do so much more. I'm still learning.
I have a macro for a button that opens a report with a long "Where Condition" I understand that the macro does not support as many characters as code does in the "where condition"
Heres an example of what I'm trying to do with the Macro (as one line without returns)

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
