Hi!
I'm trying to send a http request from a Windows form to a third-party
server. At the outset, I got an exception - error "407 proxy authentication
required", which I suppose is a message from my company's proxy server,
requiring me to authenticate myself before it will let me out on the
Internet at large.
I then did this:

Hello All,
I am using HttpWebRequest to fetch webpages in my ASP.net C#
application. The request works fine without the proxy, but on using the code
from within a network that uses proxy the request does not work. I tried to
use the MS code to get around it, but having problems using it. The first
thing is that the this conversion
myProxy=(WebProxy)myWebRequest.Proxy;
does not work, and I get an error of cannot convert...

Hello all,
I apologise in advance for the long windedness of
this post, but I feel that if I am going to get any
solution to this problem, it is important that I present
as much information that will be useful in diagnosing
the problem.
I have an application which calls a method of a web service
that we host remotely. I have deployed the application to a

I have built a client which can successfully talk to a 3rd party web service
over HTTPS. All of this works great on my laptop when I am working from home
(and thus not connected to the internet through my corporate network).
However, when I go into the office, with this same laptop, everyone must use
a firewall proxy to access anything on the WAN. I've tried all kinds of
programmatic tricks to supply valid firewall credentials for my web...

I have a .NET console app that consumes an external web service. It has
passed a userid and password to a web proxy object to pass through our

Is there a simple way to get my logon credentials to make my web request
work through our proxy server? I tried CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials,
but I get nothing back. I can get it to work if I just create a new
NetworkCredential object specifying user, password and domain. But, I would
rather get that info automatically if possible, rather than presenting a
winform for them to type it in.
Lastly, why do both the request object and...

A C# (.NET 2) application which uses the System.Net.HttpWebRequest object to
request a resource over HTTPS is failing following the installation of a new
proxy server on our internal network with 407 Proxy Authentication Required.
The same request through the old proxy succeeds.
The same request to an HTTP address through the new proxy succeeds.
Also, the request succeeds when forced to use Basic authentication but fails
on NTLM.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
