Hi All, I'm fairly new to VB.NET so I don't know if this is me or what, if I
drop a AxWebBrowser COM control on an MDI Child form, and run the program,
it appears to lock up as it's loading the form, take it off the form, and it
runs fine....I then put it back on, and Rem'ed out the line below from the
'windows designer generated code' region, and it works great!
CType(Me.AxWebB rowser1, System.Componen tModel.ISupport Initialize).End Init()
What does the above line do exactly, something to do with the COM/.NET
wrapper Ive read about?
It also runs fine if I drop the WebBrowser control on a regular form, rather
than an MDI child form.
While I'm here, is there a better alternative to using 'old' COM controls
such as the web browser?
TIA,

I have used the AxWebBrowser in a Visual Basic Project...with some success
but some buggy things...
I found that both Framework 1.0 and 1.1 had to be installed for it to work
properly.
Navigating using the OnActivate envent works,, using the onLoad or onEnter
events do not...If I make a button that navigates to a fil/page, then it
works fine....

I have a aplication which hosts an axWebbrowser. This activex component needs about 10 to 15 mb of memory.
Because i have a option to move the aplication to tray icon and do some timer work i don't want that it just spends over 10mb for nothing.
So i remove the axwebbrowser with
axwebbrowser1.dispose()
which works fine. After show the application back from the tray icon i will
implement the axwebbrowser again with the same i did it...

I created an app that uses an axWebBrowser control to display a local xml file
and had no problems.
When the form is initially loaded, it displays an htm file that says no file is
loaded:
object o = System.Reflection.Missing.Value;
axWebBrowser1.Navigate(@"file:///" + ((string)(Application.StartupPath +
@"\noXml.htm")).Replace(@"\",@"/"), ref o, ref o, ref o, ref o);

It appears that I cannot correctly install the AxWebBrowser in VS2005.
I can instantiate an "AxWebBrowser browser" and refer to its members,
properties, and methods. I'm having trouble with the AxWebBrowser.Document:
When I print browser.Document.GetType().ToString() at runtime, I get
"mshtml.HTMLDocumentClass". But The VS2005 compiler does not recognize the
member AxWebBrowser.Document as anything other than a System.Object -- e.g.,...

Hi,
I have created a hosted AxWebBrowser control and I handle the NewWindow2 event to open new windows in my own forms. Our application accesses a JSF (Java Server Faces) backend with some custom controls created by Oracle (specifically a date/calendar popup to select a date). These custom controls behave in a strange way, i.e. they "fade" the parent window, make the child popup modal but apparently not by using "showModalDialog". It...

I am using the AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser control (named PreviewBrowser) in my C#
app to load a pdf file:
PreviewBrowser.Navigate(strPDF ,ref objNull,ref objNull,ref objNull,ref
objNull);
These PDF files are created and stored in a temp folder. The older files
from temp need to be deleted everytime prior to calling the Navigate function
for the current file.
But I am getting an exception when i try to delete the temp folder

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
