DataGrid.AllowS orting

Setting DataGrid.AllowS orting to False always permit sorting of data displayed in the grid by a double click on the column header.
There are other settings to touch ? Is the default behaviour ?
Thank you.

(I use Visual Studio .NET 2003)

Just tried it in one app, set to false it doesn't matter how many times I
click, no sorting. Set to true one click is all it takes.

I write erroneous: with one click on the column header data displayed in the grid are sorted even if I set AllowSorting to False.
Thank you.

Hi,

If you added a table style to your grid set the tables styles
allowsorting instead of the grids.

Is there a way to carry data that I have already read from the datagrid from page to page? I am looking at my Datagrid that I page through and when the user says get the next page, I have to go to the database to get the next page. Is there a way to use the dataset to allow us to read back and forth in it instead of going back to the database to get it? Thanks,

Are there any add-on products or samples available that can do the following in an vb.net datagrid I want to compare 2 rows in a datagrid - one row from one database and another row for another database. So all the even rows would be from database one. All the odd rows would be from database two. Row one and two will have different formats and colors.

The program was written by a different developer who never finished it. Basically, it is a front-end to an Access database that probably should have been done in Access itself. My question concerns the DataGrid control. This control is used on about 30 different forms. The user wants to be able to sort the data in a grid by clicking a column header. The AllowSorting property is turned off on every grid in the project. I thought the fix...

Hi, I've a dataGrid, and When I click with the mouse on one of it's header the DataGrid_Click event is called. I don't have problem with the event, but strange things happen to the dataGrid after I click on one of the headers. I have DataSet that bounded to this DataGrid so i could write into the dataGrid, but when i click on the headers new rows are suddenly added, sometime as a first row, sometimes between two exsisting rows. I change...

A DataGrid control displays records from a SQL Server 2005 DB table. The AllowSorting property of the DataGrid has been set to True & the SortExpressions of the BoundColumns have been set to the different columns so that users can sort the DataGrid by clicking the headers in the DataGrid. The DataGrid can be sorted using all the headers in the DataGrid except for the first column header. <asp:DataGrid ID="dg1" AllowSorting="true"...

Hello all, I can usually find solutions to my .NET problems by searching these groups, but I'm stumped on this one. I have a datagrid in VB.NET (2.0 framework). I want to disable sorting on the first column in the grid only. I havent found a way to reliably do this yet. I tried putting the following code in the datagrid's mouse down event Dim hti As DataGrid.HitTestInfo

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
