Hello there,
I'm using Debian GNU/Linux testing/unstable (sarge) as an operating system.
About a month ago, I installed python 2.3 on my machine, from the sources.
And it worked perfectly. But about 3 weeks ago, I made a update of the
packages list (apt-get update) followed by a apt-get dist-upgrade. I short,
I upgraded Debian.
But...

If I periodically check to see if the floppy is ready, the drive will each
time make a little noise.
I've been up against this before and could never find a way to check to see
if the floppy drive is ready without making the drive make that grinding
noise.
Does anyone know a way?
Thanks in advance

Hi all,
I'm trying to install wxPython on Debian using 'apt-get install
python-wxgtk2.4.' I've got both Python 2.3 and 2.4 installed with 2.4
set as my default. For whatever reason, wxPython always installs under
/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages.
Does anyone know how I can force it to install in 2.4's site-packages
directory?

I am new to debian - I have used red hat and sun solaris before.
The oracle manual describes how to make permanent changes to

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
