How can i use a different NT user (not the login one) to connect to sql sever?

1 New Member
I have a vb 6.0 application. I would like to have the application connect to the sql server 2008 using a generic account so that I don't need to grant each individual user super permissions in the SQL Server. However, the database is set up to use Windows Authentication only, not server authentication. How can I achieve my goal here? Is it possible? Can I do impersonation in VB6.0 and how?

I'm not sure if you can. The sa username is always available, I think. But it is not recommended you use it from your app side. You might need to change the authentication to Mixed so you can what you need to do.

Good Luck!!!
