I just bought a copy of SQL Server 2000 (with service pack 3a) that I
intended to install and run on XP Pro. My concern is that the requirements
list on the box do not include XP or XP Pro. Will SQL Server 2000 developer
edition run on XP Pro? 3 2790
Yes, SQL 2000 Developer runs on XP Pro. See http://www.microsoft.com/sql/evaluat...00/default.asp

Hope this helps.

Hate to disappoint you Gene, but Sql Server 2000 requires a copy of
server, either 2000 or 2003 to run.

No, this is incorrect.
Of all editions there are of SQL Server, there are only two that require
a server operating system: Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition. All
the others: Personal, Developer, Evaluation and MSDE runs on workstation
operation systems.
Gene specifically said that he has developer edition, so he is safe.
