I have to find zipcodes within a given mileage range (25, 50, etc). I know
it's possible to use the longitude/latitude to find this, and I have that
for the zipcodes, but does anyone have a "ready made" formula? I know it has
something to do with the sine/cosine, but the "signs" aren't clear enough to
me (neither are the wonders).
Thanks in advance for the wisdom.

Hi,
I would like to create a calculated column using the formula
section for a table. I am having some trouble doing this.
The table's name is ReportParameter. The calculated column's name is
tbcalculatedcolumn and tb1 and tb2 are boolean columns in the table.
I would like to use an If then statement such as the following (in
psuedo code):
If tb1 = 1 then tbcalculatedcolumn = 1

Hi,
I am used to working in Visual FoxPro and I would like to be able to create
a database and store and retrieve information from it. What is the simplest
way to do it and what should I be using as there are many choices to choose
from.
My database will contain a lot of records.
TIA

Hi,
I am helping to build a web app that's pretty much a wrapper around a web
service. The question now is how to store the handle of the web service
object between requests. My client is using SQL server for session state so
I don't think I can store the web service handle there since it's not
serializable.
Opening up a connection to this particular service is quite slow so I don't
want to reopen it for every request.

Right now the database I am working with is storing time in
an Integer data type and is storing the time value in seconds.
The application does not allow entering seconds. It accepts
minutes and hours.
I have a report where it is doing:
SELECT SUM(TIMEENTERED)
and the SUM is *blowing* up as the SUM is reaching

assume we have 10,000 cities. imagine those distance calculating
tables, where city A (row) to city Z (col) would equal a float value.
city Z (row) to city Z(col) would be 0. The only problem is our table
is not A-Z with a 26x26 table. It's 10,000 x 10,000 .
How can you store this data in a sql table efficiently ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi.
I am in a situation with an engineering application involving
monitoring of press operations. This involves storage of numbers for
both an X and Y arrays. The number of element within the arrays
varies slightly but should be identical for a singular press
operation.
One approach is to store an element in a row. This would be 6000 rows
(3000 elements/axis * 2). This seems excessive for a single
operation. Also, I have no...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
