TPC-C Benchmark Kit

Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can find an implementation of the TPC-C
benchmark for SQL Server 2000 (preferably written in .NET) ? All I can
find is an old Microsoft implementation of TPC-B written in C, and my
C skills are rusty to say the least :( Oracle seems to have Hammerora,
so maybe someone ported it to SQL Server ? In the worst case, if
anyone would be interested in collaborating on writing such an
implementation, I'd be more than happy to get it started.

Thanks,

Oliver

Oliver,

Just go to www.tpc.org and download the full disclosure of a MS SQL
Server result.

Hi Serge,

Thanks for the pointer, I've been there and downloaded the full specs
for it already but I'm not looking for the results, I want to run the
benchmark myself against my system. I need to clarify some things
about how SQL Server works internally and I need a workload I can
easily modify. At the moment I'm using Quest's Benchmark Factory which
does the job well, but I'd really prefer something whose code I have
access to and that I can easily modify.

All the best,
Olivier

The Transaction Processing Performance Council publishes the spec but doesn't
release freely-available source code for its benchmarks.

You can check with the TPC to see whether its policies have changed it recent
years, but in the past, it was rather protective about its benchmarks.
David McGoveran was write about middleware benchmarking in the mid-90s for DBMS
magazine. He was told by the TPC he couldn't use their benchmarks.

The magazine's archive (www.dbmsmag.com) might have the official statement by
TPC.

You might look at the OSDB benchmark. It's "open source" and I've
gotten portions of it working.

Two places to look:

I found this article: http://www.serverwatch.com/news/article.php/10824_1126981_Ext that is clear out dated, it's anyway a good comparison with mysql. Do you know if someone did the TPC-C test with 7.4.X version ?

Hi all, Is there a DB2 equivilant to Oracle's DB Link functionality ? I have two DB2 databases and I need to get access to the tables in one from the other. In Oracle I would just create a DB Link between the two instances. Is such a thing possible between two DB2 databases ? Thanks in advance, Nick

Hello, We are trying to import the TPC-H data into postgresql using the COPY command and for the larger files we get an error due to insufficient memory space. We are using a linux system with Postgresql-7.3.4 Is it that Postgresql cannot handle such large files or is there some other possible reason.

How can validation testing on DBMSs such as DB2 and Oracle be performed? Is there a quick commonly used publicly available DBMS test that can be used? Could TPC-C be used? If so, where can TPC-C be obtained? (Is is publicly available?) Thanks.

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
