We migrated our intranet site from IIS4 NT4 (\\GHCNT8) to a Windows 2003
server with IIS6 (\\NT58) using the IIS Migration Tools. I have a few
ASP pages that access Foxpro data on a different server.
I downloaded the Visual Foxpro ODBC Driver from MSDN. I exported (from
the registry) the ODBC entries from the old server and imported them
onto the newserver. I setup the Internet user guest account with rights
where the Foxpro data is...

Hi,
I know about stored procedures and that they can speed up data entry via the
SQL 'insert ' statement.
However, one drawback to this method is that using the stored procedure
still requires one to manually and individually enter each and every record
to be inserted to the database before the procedure is executed.
I want to circumvent this tedium by finding a way to use maybe a VB
application that prompts a user for the data to be...

Is there a script anyone has that will automate the addition of an

hi all,
I am trying to create a dts package to transfer data from tables in my
sql server 2000 database to a db2 UDB v8.1.4 database. When I use ibm
db2 oledb driver for the destination this works fine except that rows
are committed on a row by row basis thus performance is slow. I want
to use the odbc driver but when I define it as the destination, i get
errors saying that the maximum number of rows failed has exceeded the
minimum.

We're using SQL Server 7 with an Access 2000 MDB as a front end with ODBC
linked tables. I recently created a new set of tables for the app, and users
are complaining that unsaved data is being lost when they move to a new
record. This seems to be the case when there are multiple users. When there
is a single user using it, we don't seem to have that problem.
It seems that we had this problem when we first converted from an MDB back
end...

Here's my situation:
I have an ODBC DSN setup for Timberline Data (An accounting package
that uses pervasive.sql) on my sql box. I set up a linked server using
the supplied timberline odbc driver. I have two sql instances setup,
the default instance and a named instance. On the default instance,
the linked server works great no matter who is logged in using it (all
authentication is NT integrated). However on the named instance only...

I'm having some problems with an Access 2000 MDB file with a SQL Server 7
back end, using ODBC linked tables. I previously wrote about this, but am
reposting it with some additional information and in summary form, in hopes
that someone might have an idea about what's going on.
I am using a bound form which is losing data a significant portion of the
time. Basically, the form contains 6 fields and three subforms, as follows:
Field A...

(Appologies if this group isn't the best place for this post)
Is it possible to use DAO 3.6 to access binary data (varbinary(max)) in
Sql Server 2005? I have images and sound in a Sql 2005 DB that I need
to retrieve (and write) with DAO (ADO and ADO.Net are not options as
this is legacy code that can't be changed).
Thx,
Marcus

Is there a problem with stability when one uses too many text (memo) fields?
I'm having a problem with data from one record occasionally ending up in
another record, though apparently not through any user interaction.
I'm using SQL 7 and accessing the tables through the ODBC driver. There are
two tables with a one-to-one relationship -- TableA and TableB. TableB is
the one that's having this occasional problem. TableB has about 30 text...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
