Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, but I am in the
process of trying to find a Web Hosting/Isp Billing system that is
reasonable in price and uses Access or SQL Server for a backend DB. I have
found a couple that seem to do what I want, but are using FILEMAKER for
their DB. Looking for something that will handle reoccuring billing as well
as per project billing. Keeping up with client info, etc.... Also needs to...

Hi All,
I use Bulk insert to put data to myTable.
When the SQL server is in local machin, it works well. But when I put
the data in a sql server situated not locally, then I get a error
message like this:
Could not bulk insert because file 'C:\Data\2003
txtfiles\abif_20031130.txt' could not be opened. Operating system

Hi,
I'm running ClrProfiler for the first time to profile my web app, and it
keeps getting stuck at this msg box: "Waiting for Asp.net to start common
language runtime - this is the time to load your test page." even after I
launched my app and aspnet_wp.exe is running.
Do you know what I need to do to fix it? I also found some old post, a
person mentioned that I need to make sure I need to
run my aspnet with system account instead. ...

Hello,
I'm using this code to access a network share from an asp.net page:
Dim dir As DirectoryInfo = New DirectoryInfo("\\10.0.0.150\FormLib\")
Dim files() As FileInfo = dir.GetFiles("*.eps")
When I try to do it, I get this error:
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path

Hi there,
I just got an assignment to work on server maintenance. It is a weekly task
and we have about 7 production servers running Win2K server.
The tasks include but not limited to
1) Find out drive free space for each server’s disk drives (C:, D:, E:, and
etc)
2) Report critical errors from the event logs (Application, System,
replication and etc) for each server.

Hi, I have several independent, system components that write audit
events to a database locally via ODBC and remotely via TCP, and I have
a requirement to audit when the database is available for modification.
First, does SQL Server have a concept of starting/stopping specific
database instances? Or does my database instance "stop" only when the
NT service MSSQLSERVER stops?
Second, Oracle has system event triggers, e.g. AFTER...

Hi All,
I'm hoping someone will have some words of wisdom for me regarding MS
Clustering on Windows 2003.
I have a service that runs on a cluster. During invocation it's
supposed to determine from the cluster which node is active (this is a
active/standby configuration) and either proceed or sleep depending on
the status. The interface to the cluster is that advertised by the
standard interop layer built by Visual Studio for the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
