Trigger on Replicated table from another Database

1 New Member
Hi,
I have a problem trying to update a table I replicated from a master table "Details" in database "BRC" on server "Comp24" on to my database "BRCTM" on my local server "Comp28" ,
as in changes made to the master table
"Details"[database "BRC" on server "Comp24"]
should be reflected in the replicated version
"Details" [database "BRCTM" on my local server "Comp28"],
but the reverse should not be possible
Could I please get some guidance as to how to perform this operation ?
Please give the SQL trigger syntax for this operation.
I am using MS SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition
Regards

if you don't need it in real time, why not schedule a job instead that will backup the database and restore it on the local one, overwritting the local one.

if you need it in real time, try replication

A friend of mine wants me to create a php web application that will show what tables or table/cols are being replicated and the current status for each replication. He is telling me it won't be using oracle specific coding. So I need to find a good website where I can read up on triggers and replication in oracle. Also recommendations for a good book on the subject. Chris W

Hello alltogether, i'm working on a database-plattform which should work with fail-over-technics. Therefor 2 identic machines with internal RAID are available, which work in single-host-netloadbalance on win2003-server. Because of the internal RAID and caused by costs, a solution without external SCSI-RAID and win2003-clustering-mechanism is looked for. First i tried to use merge-replication but the rowguid-column, which is added,...

I need a trigger (well, I don't *need* one, but it would be optimal!) but I can't get it to work because it references ntext fields. Is there any alternative? I could write it in laborious code in the application, but I'd rather not! DDL for table and trigger below. TIA

Im a newbie with a sql table in a MSDE database that contains fields of CustName, BrokerName, Type, Status. I am trying to write a trigger that does this: 1. When a new record in a table is added, I would like the selected fields to be copied to another table (call it Master). 2. If that Master table already contains a record where the CustName = CustName, then simply ignore. If CustName does not match anything, then add the record to...

DB2 8.1.14 on win XP but later will be moved to AIX. The peer to peer replica bewtween server1 and server2 is setup (just one table now) - and it works when the changes are done to the table using just update. On the server1 the the status column is set to 1 (update sql) and then the change is replicated to server2 where there is a trigger: CREATE TRIGGER DB2ADMIN.MAINT AFTER UPDATE OF STATUS ON DBO.TBLLOCK REFERENCING OLD AS o NEW AS n ...

I haven't gotten a response yet, so I moved this from another group. I have been working on this for 2 days so if anyone has any ideas, I would be grateful. I have a 3rd party program that creates and populates tables in my SQL Server 2005 database. The program fails on the inserts on "tblB" because the field it creates is too small for the data that it is trying to put in it

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
