I'm trying to build a bsddb hash database for an
application, where it will be read-only.
Actually, the app will use three similar databases.
All appeared to be writen OK -- no errors -- and the
two smaller ones of around 50 megs each are correct.
The largest one, about 200 megs, is written, and can
be read, and the strings are correctly...

The following is a technical report on a data modeling project
that was recently assigned to me by my professor. I post it
so that anyone else who is studying databases and data modeling
can have an example to go by with their study of databases.
I was assinged to come up with a data model, but I choose the

My employers currently use Access for processing large volumes of data
for reporting and simple modelling, which involves a lot of make
table/update queries etc.
I have been asked to work on a retail forecasting model, but looking at
the spec. the base data tables have approximately 6 million records.
I know this can theoretically be done...

Hi,
In my application I get lots of different sorts of information from
databases. As such, a lot of information is stored in DataSets and DataTable
objects.
Up until now, I have been passing around chunks of data in
DataTables/DataSets, simply because that was the format that they were in
when the data was taken from the database. Now,...

I'd like to get some feedback on the issue of storing data out to disk and
where to store it. I've never been in a production environment in
programming so you'll have to bear with me...
My question is about storing data in a database. Yes I understand that you
can link to a database in your program and read and write to the database
etc...

Hello,
I need to take a set of input tables and create an XML output file. The
format of the XML output must be user-definable and must be intuitive
enough for non-techies to use.
input table(s) + SomeSchemaDefinition ==XML file
I have seen examples of XML file generation with fixed scope. For
example, if input table (called customer)...

Is there a ready made function in numpy/scipy to compute the correlation y=mx+o of an X and Y fast:
m, m-err, o, o-err, r-coef,r-coef-err ?
Or a formula to to compute the 3 error ranges?

PS:
numpy.corrcoef computes only the bare coeff:

I need to process large amount of data. The data structure fits well
in a dictionary but the amount is large - close to or more than the size
of physical memory. I wonder what will happen if I try to load the data
into a dictionary. Will Python use swap memory or will it fail?
Thanks.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
