Long, long ago when Access 97 first hit the streets a sample database called Northwind was shipped with it. At that time a number of articles had been posted on the correct procedure to remove all the sample data. Does anyone out there still have this information?

I was looking at the Products form and it give details about products including how many are in stock, I picked the product called Chai. By default is says that 39 units in stock. I then go to the orders form and create a new order and use say 5 , fill in all the fields and save the record. I...

The Northwind Order Entry Application database is great! ----------------------------------------- But one thing is lacking: Real-time Stock Qty calculation! ----------------------------------------- I know that this topic has been discussed over & over in forums, but I have yet to find anyone that has shown the following: ----------------- 1) Linking Allen Browne's code to Northwind? then an 2) Inventory report to show Products &...

Hi Folk I looked at the Northwind Sample Database for the first time recently and I was just wondering why they made it so ugly. If northwind is supposed to be inspiring to young and hopeful access programmers then why does it look straight out of an 1984 slapstick? MS Corp surely must have a couple of capable designers to make things look pretty. Did I offend anyone? It is just my opinion, i may be wrong so do not take it personally...

Can't open Northwind I remembered doing walkthrough using Northwind. However it wasn't an http project but a file project using the development server. Northwind allowed me to add, edit and insert, and the web page looked fine. I opened a simple project just to see whether I could get my sqlserver on the internet. (vs studio 2005, sqlserver 2005)

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
