I am looking for a way to parse a simple log file to get the
information in a format that I can use. I would like to use python,
but I am just beginning to learn how to use it. I am not a programmer,
but have done some simple modifications and revisions of scripts. I am
willing to attempt this on my own, if someone can point me in the right
direction (any example scripts that do similar things would be
helpful). This doesn't have to be...

Hello all,
This may sound pretty basic stuff.. but I'm working on a socket example
whose client seems to work fine, but the server doesn't send to the
client the expected result. The problem is that I want to trace what
the server socket is doing, but I'm unable to see any of my fprintf or
printf stuff.
Please take a look to the example:

Map, generate, and maintain 50% of your .NET application code, namely
your business and data objects. Use these objects in ASP.NET, Windows
Forms, console or services applications.
Business and Data Objects Framework
-- Map objects to relational databases
-- Embed SQL, stored procedure calls, and business rules
-- Generate .NET components in C# and VB.NET
-- Use components in your own high-traffic custom applications

I'm sure this is possible but I just can't see how to do it. I want to add
schemas to my solution and have C# classes automatically generated from
them. I can see how to generate typed DataSet's with the MSDataSetGenerator
custom tool. Is there something similar for simple schemas?
Regards

Hi guys
I am looking for the best way to generate new reports with reporting
services for SQL server 2005. The reports will be generated programmatically
from a .Net VB application. So far I see the only way to do it is to feature
my objects (text blocks, pictures, tables drawn from excel and databases
etc.) with a "render to RDL"- function and thus create an RDL definition of
the report, then push that one to the server using the...

The table in the database has a field called LabID. That field is an
integer and consists of the year plus a counter. For example, the
first record of 2006 would be "20060001," the second record of 2006
would be "20060002" and so on. I'm trying to create an Insert trigger
that can generate the ID value when a new record is inserted, but I'm
not quite sure how to implement that trigger. Can anyone help?

I had thought that I had posted this yesterday but since I cannot find
it here we go again.
I have searched the archives but either the code I want is not posted
or I missed it.
I have a user create role in a database that I need to reproduce in
another version of the database. Does anyone out there have the SQL
or T-SQL necessary to generate all the grants to a role?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
