Some time ago I hacked a custom solution to run doctests
on text files containing documentation. The solution
involved this kind of game:
tester=doctest.Tester(globs={},verbose=1)
tester.runstring(mytest)
It worked fine, but now with Python 2.4.a3 I get
DeprecationWarning: class Tester is deprecated; use class

Why is C syntax so uneasy on the eye?
In its day, was it _really_ designed by snobby programmers to scare away
potential "n00bs"? If so, and after 50+ years of programming research,
why are programming languages still being designed with C's syntax?
These questions drive me insane. Every waking minute...

I am a new user of NUnitAsp. I have encountered a problem for which I
do not know the reason. Some tester objects that I create for various
input controls turn out to be invisible, i.e their "visible" property
is false. This does not occur all of the time. Does anyone have any
idea why this might be happening? I cannot seem to figure out...

Does anyone know if there is some code out there that acts as a
NUnitAsp tester for RadioButtonList controls? Or any ideas on how to
go about creating a tester for such a control?
Thanks in advance!

The Concepts and Confusions of Pre-fix, In-fix, Post-fix and Fully
Functional Notations
Xah Lee, 2006-03-15
Let me summarize: The LISP notation, is a functional notation, and is
not a so-called pre-fix notation or algebraic notation.
Algebraic notations have the concept of operators, meaning, symbols
placed around arguments. In...

Some Sr. colleges and I have had an on going discussion relative to when and
if
C# will ever support 'true' multiple inheritance.
Relevant to this, I wanted to query the C# community (the 'target' programming
community herein) to get some community input and verify (or not) the
following
two statements.
Few programmers (3 to7%)...

Hi all,
I haven't experienced functional programming very much, but now I'm
trying to learn Haskell and I've learned that: 1) in functional
programming LISTS are fundmental; 2) any "cycle" in FP become
recursion.
I also know that Python got some useful tool such as map, filter,
reduce... so I told: "let's try some FP-style programming with...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
