Creating stored procedures in SQL Server 2005 Express

2 New Member
Anyone had problems with this? The Management Studio just saves my attempts to create stored procedures as query files and doesn't add them to the list of stored procedures.

You need to execute the stored procedure which should include a 'CREATE PROCEDURE' command. This then adds it to the database list of stored procedures. For more information, read this article:

Hi, I wrote the following in the SQL Server 2005 Express Management Studio Query Analyzer and hit execute. Even though Query Analyzer indicated success when I hit refresh on the stored procedure folder the procedure does not show up in the stored procedure list. When I entered 'exec Test' I get an error indicating that SQL Server 2005 can't find the procedure. I executed the following code 'select * from sys.all_objects where name like...

I've been trying to copy tables from a linked server to a SQL Server Express database. Express seems to have no direct/automatic way to do it, so I've been looking into doing this by hand (i.e., with a T-SQL procedure). I've discovered some system stored procedures that seem relevant (like sp_tables_ex and sp_columns_ex). But they're procedures, not table-valued functions, so I'm not sure if I can actually do anything with the data they...

I have several stored procedures, created in a development environment, that I need to move to a 'QA' environment, and then in turn, to various production environments. When I move these stored procedures, I would like to encrypt them, using the 'WITH ENCRYPTION' clause. My question is, how do I copy these stored procedures from development to their target SQL server environment in an encrypted state? Up until now, we have been moving...

PLEASE HELP!! I am trying to do what I think should be the simplest thing. In Visual Studio 2005, I set up a datagrid and then went ot configure a datasource for it. I made my connection to the database using the same connection string as I used to view the databse in server explorer. (In server explorer I see all stored procedures). I then go through the wizard and choose "Specify a custom SQL Statement or Stored Procedure." Then...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
