Hi,
Some of my users would like to use the 'list applications' command to
view processes being run. But I do not want them to belong to the
SYSMAINT group or any other system group( DBADM/SYSCTRL/SYSADM). As
far as I know this is the only way one can use that command. Is there
any other way where I can give them authority/permissions that just
allows them to run the that command without having other system type
authority.

I would like to build an application that emails each user that has
read permissions to a folder when a new file is added.
I have build a service using system.io.filesystemwatcher to monitor
the folder for changes. However I have not been able to find out how
to get a list of users that have read permissions to a folder (This
folder is on the local machine).
Thank you,

I have a few general questions. I am working on a new database to be
used within my company. I would like to give a couple of people,
particularly HR, the ability to add and delete Access users, and
add/remove them to groups, so as people join and leave the company,
they can be added/removed as database users at that time. However, I
don't want them to have to do it through the standard Access
users/groups interface, and I don't want...

Sorry for the repost. I must have done something wrong when I tried to post
my reply (I can't seem to find it).
Anyway, I'd really appreciate any help that anyone could provide. My issue
is quickly becoming more and more urgent.
Thanks for the thoughts Bruce. However, we can't do #1 (we must use
Integrated Windows Authentication). And, can't do #2 (the server will be,

I have a default installation of SQLServer2000 on a host running
Win2003. I want to install SQLServer2005 on the same machine, but
preserve the original SQLServer2000 installation. How do I do this --
install into new directory? new directory and named instance? just
new named instance? What stumbling blocks could I run into?

Damn! SQLServer2000 can't add a NOT NULL COLUMN even in one empty
existing table!
That is, A is the existing table and it is emtpy, I want to add one NOT
NULL COLUMN (col_new) to A using following T-SQL statement, then it
will fail.
ALTER TABLE A ADD
col_new varchar(600) NOT NULL

I have a VS2005 VB.Net windows form application deployed to a share drive.
The windows explorer security permissions for this application (.exe) file

that users cannot take away a copy of the .exe file. When I execute the
..exe from the client computer I get .Net Framework Initialization Error,

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
