sql 2005 client tools

I have installed SQL 2005 on a new machine and cannot find any of the
client tools I am used to having: query analyzer, enterprise mgr.,
profiler. Shouldn't they be included in a default installation if I
chose to install client tools? Where do I go to find them?

Query Analyzer and Enterprise Manager do not come with SQL 2005, so those
you will not see. But you should see the new SQL Server Management Studio.

From what sort of media did you install? Beware that if you installed from
CD, that the tools are on a second disk.

What's the deal with SQLServer 2005 Beta? I've just got a magazine with a free cover disk with VB 2005 beta, and also includes SQLServer 2005. I've installed it, but I can't get it to do anything. It seems to have installed ok, there are the data files for allthe usual system and example databases in place, and Task Manager shows that SQLServer is definitely running. However the only tool that came with it is called 'Computer...

This post is not intended in inflame, so please provide only positive or informative replies. Personally I'm getting a little fed up over certain changes to Framework classes and such -whereby new classes have been created to replace old ones (that only appear to offer a different location in the framework) -ConfigurationManager seems to be one. And other things such as the renaming of events e.g a form 1.1 had Closing ...now it's...

We have VS.NET 2003, .NET 1.1, and SQL Server 2000 installed locally on each of our developer workstations. We will need to keep these tools installed for maintaining old applications, but intend on developing new applications using ASP.NET 2.0, VS 2005, and SQL Server 2005. Are there any barriers in running these products side by side assuming we wait to install the live versions released in a couple weeks? Thanks in advance. Mark

I am having a number of problems over the last two full days trying to get an ASP.NET 2.0 application to connect to a SQL Server 2005 database... First off, I built this application w/ Visual Studio 2005 SP1 and had it working perfectly on my Windows XP machine on SQL Server 2005 Express. I decided to publish this application to a test development server (with both the SQL and IIS servers on the same box) running on: Windows Server...

Hi there, We have recently deployed a couple of new SQL 2005 x64 servers in our hosting environment. We have previously used SQL 2000. I need to start rolling out the new client tools so our developers can start working on them. I tried to copy the sql tools msi off the installation CD and install it on the developers machine but it will not install on them as the workstations are 32bit and the server is x64.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
