I am trying to move a database created in ms sql7 Desktop on a win nt4
workstation, to a ms sql7 server on a win nt4 server. All service packs
are the same.
I have tried backing up the database and restoring to the sql7 server.
The restore aborts, because it recognizes the database is not from that
server. I have tried exporting, but everything does not get moved. I
have yet to try sp_detach db, I will try it this weekend.

I just got Visual Studio 6 Enterprise which includes SQL Server
7. However, when I try to install SQL7 (Standard Edition ?) on
Windows XP Home it only installs the client components and not
the server component. The install routine claims this is because
of the version of Windows I am using.

We are trying to import data from a sql 7 machine into sql 2000 using
import wizard in DTS. One of the tables has in excess of 80 million
rows.
The first time we did this it worked fine no problems. However we had
to recreate the database, and it has not worked since.
The error message is reported as ' the log file for 'dbname' is full'.

Im trying to access a sql200 database from a sql7 hosted stored
procedure and this is not working. I know that SQL7 is not compatible
with the MDAC for SQL 2000. Does anyone know if this is what is
causing me my problems and if so is it possible to upgrade the SQL7
MDAC without breaking it?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
