Import spreadsheet using TransferSpreads heet

Jer
I am using TransferSpreads heet from an ADP file to import an Excel
spreadsheet into an MSDE database. On one computer, when I run the
code to
import the spreadsheet, it prompts for an SQLServer login. The same
user can
try it on a different computer and it will work fine. Data in the
tables of
the database can be viewed and edited on the bad computer. But the
spreadsheet cannot be imported. I even tried the Get External
Data->Import
menu option and it prompts for SQLServer login also.
Any ideas on what to look at on this computer to determine the problem?
Or any suggestions for a better way to import a spreadsheet into an
SQLServer database (it must be imported every two weeks)?

Thanks!
Jerry

I need to import a spreadsheet into an Access table. The spreadsheet has performance for mutual funds for various periods. The problem is that if there is no info for a particular period, the spreadsheet contains a dash in the cell (for example if the fun is only 4 years old and I look in the columns for 5-year and 10-year performance). I cannot change the dashes to blank with a global change, the negative numbers would lose the...

I'm using TransferSpreadsheet to transfer data from A2K to an Excel spreadsheet that has some pivot tables in it. It seems like it is working, but when I open the spreadsheet, it gets an error (always asks if I want to send a message to Microsoft). I can't figure out how to get the data into the spreadsheet. Anyone run into this or have a suggestion?

Hi again I am trying to import from an excel spreadsheet into access 2002, but the order that is in the spreadsheet is not preserved when I import. using DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet in code. Access sets indexes on certain fields with "Code" in the field. Even if I remove these index, the order is close, but still some of the fields are out of order.

Here's what I've got: I'm trying to grab some data out of an Excel spreadsheet and bring it into Access. I'm able to do it, but only if the Excel spreadsheet is not opened by any other users. I am connecting to the spreadsheet via ADO (Jet OLE 4.0 Provider). If the file is opened for editing by another user, I receive the "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file ". It is already opened exclusively by another user, or...

I'm hoping the answer to this is that I'm just doing something silly, but I'm really scratching my head over this one. I'm importing data from multiple workbooks, each workbook has a sheet called SubSAT and I need to get specific data from that into the database. I'm finding that if I have the workbook open on my desktop then the SubSAT % complete and the High level plan % come in fine, but as soon as the workbook is closed they come...

Convert them to CSV in Excel, then use TransferText (which does not work correctly and also doesn't accept XLS/Excel files directly) or create a link to an Excel XLS workbook and do an Append Query (as some have suggested here)?? I find that hard to believe as Access is part of MS Office and Visual FoxPro is not. I split my time using both and I can do a simple copy command to XLS in VFP or an Append command to DBF or use Office...

I'm using TransferSpreadsheet to import an Excel file in to MS Access 2003. DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet acImport, 8, strTable, strFileName, True, "" One of the columns in the Excel file is a number formatted field, but occasionally a cell in that column will not have a value. When that happens, the code is not returning an error, but I end up with a table of the Import Errors where that blank field value could

Hello, I have the following code that I am using when a user presses a button to import an excel file into a table. The code is hard coded to point to the correct table. This works great for this one table. My problem is I have two buttons I want to use this code for for the two buttons would put the data in different tables. I have tried copying and changing a few things and nothing will work for me. The code is set up in a module and then I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
