Hello All,
I have been encountering trouble with a SQL Server 2000 Transaction
log file, mainly with the constant growth and lack of the autoshrink
option. Here are the details:
1.) OS is Windows 2000 server sp3
2.) SQL Server 2000 (Build 2195) sp3
3.) Database Recovery Mode is set to Full
4.) Maintenance Plan for "Transaction Log Backup"...

I was trying to relocate my transaction log to a bigger drive using
sp_movedevice but I made a mistake in the syntax of the second parameter
and put only the path, not the path and the file name.
Now my database is marked as "suspect" and I get an error message in my log
upon database start up saying that the log file cannot be open.
Is...

Hi,
For some magical reason, my database replication has suddenly stopped
working. I modified the publication but the Distribution agent will
not run; the snapshot does not get applied to the subscriber, and
changes made at the publisher do not get replicated.
My configuration is: Transactional Replication with a 'Pull'
Subscription....

Hi,
I have had a site working for the last 2 years and have had no problems
until at the weekend I replace my database server with a newer one. The
database migration went like a dream and I had the whole db changed over
in 1 hour.
Since the upgrade I have been getting the following error message
sporadically.

I am running a website with a SQL Server database attached.
My transaction logs are full and my hosting co. won't allocate more
disk space for me.
I need to delete my database transaction logs and asume I will need to
run an SQL script to do this.
Problem: I do not have MS Enterprise Manager of any database utility

Hi,
We have created a SQL server 2000 database. We observe that the
transaction log keeps growing over time. We are now about to run out of
space. We have been periodically shrinking the database. Nevertheless
the size has increased. I would imagine that a transaction log can be
eliminated if we stop the database. Can that be done? Is there...

Hi All,
I am fairly new to MS SQL Replication. I have two servers one is setup
as the publisher and the other is setup as both the subscriber and the
distributor.
Due to server reboots, the publicher DB became corrupted therefore we
pointed all activity to the subscriber DB. Now we would like to bring
back the publisher online, but we...

I have a client with 150MB database, the transaction log file is
nearly 23GB. It's a PITA for me to backup his data and restore it on
my server as it takes about 30 minutes to restore as it re-creates a
23GB file with no transactions in it :-\
As well as the space taken up by it, does it do any harm being that
size? e.g. does it decrease...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
