Hi,
In the MS SQL 2000 Server, if the log shipping is set up right, does that
mean data in primary server changed will mapped to secondary server later
on?
Thanks.

All changes to the source database are applied to the target database -
check out "Log Shipping" in Books Online for all the details.

Another big reason to use Log Shipping for you DR/Standby solution.
Only the log shipping can update your DR/Standby database. This helps
protect the integrity of your database. If for any reason your
production and standby database do get out of synch, the log shipping
will fail, letting you know very quickly that there is a problem, so
you can fix it.

Do I need to sync the time first for the Primary server and the Secondary
server? 'cuz there's some out of sync messages in the event viewer log.

first...let me aplogize if I shouldn't post this question here...
I have created a few web site apps that use e-commerce technologies using ASP and XML. These are typical sites, with shipping, tax, blah blah. Usually it's standard shipping and is just related to the weight of the entire order. Now, I've been asked to add several shipping options (i.e. Overnight, One-Day, Standard). My question...I did some searching around first but...

Hello,
I am setting up log shipping between two SQL servers. Everything in the
setup seems to work fine. The problem I am having is that the "Log
Shipping Alert Job - Backup" job is failing, event though the tlog
backup copy & restore process is working fine. When I look at the
histories of both the backup and copy/restore jobs, they are successful
all the way through, I can make changes to the primary db, and see them
get shipped to...

We have successfully implemented Log Shipping between two MS SQL Server
2000 servers (bothe SP3). The problem we are having is two fold:
1) The tran log on the primary server is not being truncated even
though the tran logs are being shipped and applied to the standby
database on the backup server.
2) The log shipping monitor, when drilling down into the "View
Copy/Restore History" reporting selection, is showing a copy failure for...

How do I prevent SQL Server 2000 from posting successful backup
completion messages to the Windows 2000 Application Event Log?
I have scheduled jobs which backup my transaction logs on 50+ databases
and it always writes to the Windows 2000 application event log upon
completion.
Due to the frequency of the jobs it only takes a day for the
Application Log to fill up, which is causing other jobs to get hung up
when trying to write to it. On...

Greetings,
I tried to implement log shipping using PULL method as described in
'The Basics of DB2 Log Shipping' by Dale McInnis, but found the
subsequent "rollforward" did not go beyond the first log.
Here is what I did:
2 machines: Primary and standby servers both W2K SP4 running DB2 8.2.
Both have logretain (YES) and USEREXIT (ON) set.

My customer has an ecommerce store. He receives approx 600 orders per month.
Worldpay.com handles the credit card transactions and sends my customer an
email for each order containing the information exactly as shown below.
We need to get the Shoppers details, Shipping details and the product
details out of Outlook and into Access. I can take care of the database
construction, but I just need some advice on how best to format the Worldpay...

I am a DB2 DBA that has been asked to become familiar enough with SQL
Server in order to become actively involved in its installation,
implementation, and to review database backup/recovery procedures. SQL
Server will be used by a vendor packaged application.
The problem is that we are awaiting word on whether it will be SQL
Server 2000 or 2005 we will be working with. I have been told that
there are considerable differences between the...

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience in developing a
shipping matrix.
We are based in the UK, and we need to ship both locally and
internationally. Local shipping is priced by weight and doesn't matter
about the number of packages, international shipping is by weight and
package size, so we need to know the number of packages.

Hello All!
I have a shipping profile page that i created and works perfectly. User can create multiple shipping addresses that post to an access DB and they can then edit them (1 at a time). I have all the appropriate java validators in place for the submit (that took about 300 lines of code :) ). I have it to where the user can only have one default address as well.
The question that i have relates to auto entering a default shipping...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
