Hello
I have a SQL 2000 server, the server setting is default language :
French and all Collation names in French
If i launch the 'Query Analyzer' from the SQL Entreprise Manager on my
database, and run a T-SQL my dates are in English.
If i do a : DBCC USEROPTIONS, my results are
language us_english
dateformat mdy
Now if i launch 'Query Analyzer' from the startup menu, my date format
is ok in French, if i do DBCC USEROPTIONS, results are:
language Français
dateformat dmy
In the Query Analyzer i checked the option in Tools>Options>C onnections
(Use regional settings is unchecked) and they are the same in both case.
How can i resolve my problem ?
Thanks 1 2675

It appears that you are login in with different logins from the two
tools. You can use sp_defaultlangu age to change the language for the
login which has the wrong language.
In Enterprise Manger, right-click the server and use Edit Registration
Properties to see which login to use for connection from EM.

Hi group,
I have a select statement that if run against a 1 million record
database directly in query analyzer takes less than 1 second.
However, if I execute the select statement in a stored procedure
instead, calling the stored proc from query analyzer, then it takes
12-17 seconds.
Here is what I execute in Query Analyzer when bypassing the stored
procedure:

A colleague of mine has a query which fails to run under SQLAgent
batch with the following error:
The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in
an out-of-range datetime value. (Error 242) The
statement has been terminated. (Error 3621). The
step failed.
He can run the same query sucessfully via query analyzer (i.e. no
errors, and it does what he wants)

Hey all,
I'm having this weird problem on my Windows 2003 Server machine..
Whenever I open two connection pages in Query Analyzer, then close one
of them, it locks up and I have to kill the task.
I read a posting somewhere that said this could be due to an MDAC
installation problem, but I've run MDAC Component Checker and all files
are ok, version 2.8. Also, since I'm running Windows 2003 and MDAC 2.8

The row counts I am getting from SQL Enterprise Manager and Query
Analyzer are different. When I double click a table in Enterprise
Manager it gives me a row count of say 1000. However, when I select *
from that same table in Query Analyzer it returns 1028 rows. Anyone
know why or better yet, how to fix it? Thanks!

I would like to save a query plan (estimated or actual)
created in Query Analyzer -- paste it into a document,
or simply print. It doesn't seem to be possible to
select and copy the Execution Plan window, and printing
it creates microscopic gibberish which is a waste of
paper. Is it possible to do this?
Set showplan_text is of limited help for the SP I'm
looking at -- while analyzing the SP, it reads ahead

I am trying to determine which of three stored procedure designs are
fastest in the Query Analyzer:
One query is a straight SELECT query with all desired rows and a dozen
(tblName.RowName = @param or @param = Null) filters in the WHERE
statement.
One query populates a #Temp table with the UniqueIDs from the results
of the SELECT query in the above example, then joins that #Temp table
to get the desired rows.

using VS.2003...
This has annoyed me endlessly.
I hate the visual query designer in VS.
Is it possible through add-ins or extensions to have query's you want to
edit open in query analyzer, or the text editor in VS, or a dos shell... or
anything other than the designer.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to access a client's SQL query anaylzer to run a SQL
script, and I can not find it anywhere.
I have not used SQL in a few years, but I would always see a menu in
the program list, or go to Enterprise Manager. I could not find any
menu listings for SQL. I went to Programs - Administrative and did not
see anything related to SQL yet I know that I am looking at their SQL
server.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention.
