What is "layered development"?

1 New Member
I'm writing a job application; English is not my native language & I'm having trouble translating some of the criteria requirements into what I know / have done (I have 5 years c / C++ experience with a little C#). I can't find a reference to "layered development" anywhere except in the criteria in the advertisement. Can anyone tell me what it is ... or give an example?
Thank you so much!!

Can you show us what you are looking at? A website or something? I've never heard of layered development unless they are talking about a methodology.

hi,

In software design, there are different design and architectural patterns. You can find the information you need about the Layered design pattern on this website: http://www.stevenblack.com/PTN-Layers.asp

Let me know if that helped. This design pattern basically helps isolating different modules from the others. In other words, the task is divided into sub-tasks where each-subtask has its own level of abstraction.

I hope that is what you were looking for.
