I did it.
I proposed python as the main language for our next CAD/CAM
software because I think that it has all the potential needed
for it. I'm not sure yet if the decision will get through, but
something I'll need in this case is some experience-based set
of rules about how to use python in this context.
For example... is defining readonly attributes in classes
worth the hassle ? Does duck-typing scale well in complex

this is posisble without the 6.5 software?
If the answer is no, does anyone know where i could find/buy SQL

Thanks for any help.

I'd like to hear thoughts on what books, in your opinion, are true
classics in the field of software engineering. I read a lot on the
topic - at least a book a month for many years. There are many good
authors, however, the only book on making software that is truly
timeless, in my opinion, is "Mythical Man Month" by Brooks. It never
ceases to amaze me that something written over 20 years ago would be
so relevant.
It seems like Brooks...

This may not be a direct C# question, but since I'll be using using C# for
development, I thought I'd pose the question here.
I'll soon be involved in the design of a new software product that will
employ a software "Plug-In" architecture. Taking the plug-in route will
give us a design that can adapt to, as yet, undefined future requirements
(within the scope of the plug-in interface spec of course). In the past
I've done this with...

i lead a small development team (based on some of my posts that might cause
some people to choke themselves, but have no fear, i am NOT the lead
developer, the people on my team are great - i'm just the manager) for my
company. although we attempt to use good practices for development, we have
no real experience in documentation of a project _before_ it's coded.
Are there any great books out there on how to document a project before we...

The problem with learning from c++ texts is that the coding examples
are very small.
To prepare for a workplace setting, I would think a person needs access
to huge coding projects that occur in software development.
How does one get access to such projects via the web? A project
related to financial mathematics would be ideal. Perhaps Quantlib but
I found it difficult to install.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
