Different prgramming techniques to connect to remote systems and execute.

38 New Member
Hi All,

One programming technique to connect from one system to other is through socket programming.
Socket programming can be done using programming languages like Java,C,C++.

Are there any other programming techniques though which can be used to
1) Connect from local machine to remote machines AND
2) Transfer data from local machine to remote machines AND
3) Execute a process on the remote machines.

What if the OS on the remote machine is different from the OS on the local machine, like windows on local machine and Linux or Solaris on remote machines?

Please let me know your thoughts about it.
Any related information will be greatly helpful.

Thank you,
Regards,
Ganesh

Hi I have a DB2 v8.1 on AIX and DB2 Connect EE on Solaris wich is connected to OS/390 DB2 subsystems via APPC / SNA. I have cataloged the DB2 Connect instance as tcpip node and then the Host DB cataloged on that node...this works from v7.2 Fixpack 11 clients and servers, but with v8.1 server I get SQL1334N. Does anyone has an idea? Thanks

We are running DB2 UDB 8.1.6 in a partitioned environment where we have 8 physical nodes. We have a process that remotely connects to each individual node and loads some data. By setting the DB2NODE variable to a different value then the coordinator node is the only way I am aware for a remote application to do this so I am making the assumption that is how this application connects. What I am more interested in is that after logging...

Hi, we're developing some web services and use the local development server of Visual Studio 2005 to create, run and debug the project. The web service methods connect to a database hosted on a dedicated server and the Microsoft CRM 3.0 server, also on a separate machine. As the CRM server installation makes changes to the Active Directory, they are located in a separate domain, while the development machines are member of the companies...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
